Travel Log: Hakone, Kanagawa Prefecture

Last weekend, I went to Hakone in Kanagawa Prefecture which is located surprisingly close to the Izu Peninsula. Hakone is a popular day-trip destination for Tokyo-ites being so close to the capitol as it is. If you are interested in some amazing views of Mt. Fuji, I definitely recommend a trip to Hakone. Check out the comprehensive Japan-Guide.com page for more information about traveling in Hakone. Enjoy some snaps below...

Saw this tucked away behind some trees on the road side. The red paint they use on the torii and shrines in Hakone is so vivid!

Find of the day! Promotional Dragonbal Z orange sodas. I'm on a mission to collect all 9!

Hakone "Black Eggs." 1 egg supposedly adds 5 years to your life. I gained 25 years for 500yen!

What's your favourite day trip out of Tokyo?

  2. Looks like an amazing place and love the red of the shrine with the green trees. The view of Fuji-san with the shrine in the background across Lake Ashi is stunning.
